Maryland Gov. Hogan offers $100K for information on church killing

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan has offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for the death of an elderly woman in a Baltimore church.

Hogan also said he has directed the Maryland State Police and all state law enforcement agencies on Wednesday to assist the Baltimore Police Department with its investigation and to provide enhanced visibility patrols. Evelyn Player, a church sexton, was found dead inside the Southern Baptist Church on Tuesday.

The governor added that the slaying follows a string of senseless violence.
