BALTIMORE (AP) — Orioles chairman John Angelos says the team will not leave Baltimore.

He also reacted contentiously when a reporter asked for more clarity on the future of the team’s ownership. Angelos appeared with Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott at Camden Yards to announce a $5 million commitment to the CollegeBound Foundation, which empowers students of Baltimore schools to pursue a college degree or other post-secondary option. It was a rare occasion in which reporters had a chance to ask Angelos questions. The first one was about the team’s lease. Angelos said the Orioles will be in Baltimore for the long term. A different reporter asked about the future of Angelos’ involvement with the team.

Angelos said the question was inappropriate.
